This is an excellent opportunity to join Coveris, a leading European print & packaging company at our site in St Neots’ Howard Road site. We are currently recruiting for a Print Apprentice to join our production team. Suitable candidates would have great attention to detail, demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude and be a team player.

You will complete a Level 3 Print Technician qualification via Learn 2 Print over 2 years. You will be required to attend training in Kettering 1 day per week.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Ensure effective handover communication is completed on arrival with previous Operator on shift – covering SQD
  • Support the department with walk arounds in the Press area to carry out 5S
  • Complete cleaning schedule at the start of the shift
  • Carry out guard checks
  • Report any issues to the Shift Manager that affect SQD throughout the shift
  • Support the print department to achieve machine targets speed to be optimised where possible – raising any concerns where these can not be achieved immediately
  • Assist with monitoring and controlling print quality using the appropriate documentation– raise any concerns with the Shift Manager
  • Complete all related paperwork and input data onto the ERP system accurately
  • Maintain good housekeeping on the press and surrounding areas
  • Ensure the machine and equipment is maintained to a ‘new like standard’ - raising any Engineering T Cards when necessary
  • To come forward with ideas and work with the Site team to continually improve the  cell and process where required
  • To ensure that consideration and good relations are maintained at all times
  • Assist with filling out Production feedback forms when you incure downtime or input errors
  • Support the Shift Manager in concluding internal spoilage investigations and customer complaints
  • Ensure all metrics are populated on the machine
  • Be proactive to ensure all inputs are available for the next job
  • Support the operator to mount and set flexi dies (Imp)
  • Ensure all standard SOP’s are adhered too
  • Support with department to carry out planned maintenance operator tasks on a bi weekly basis supporting the Engineers when necessary
  • Active involvement and support in any site CPS events

 

Key Requirements

  • Entry requirement – 5 GCSE’s at Grade 4 or above including Maths and English
  • Driving licence desired – There will be day releases to attend training
  • Proactive, positive, enthusiastic - demonstrates “can do” attitude
